Depart from the Hosonoguchi Bus stop then make a round about loop to the old primary school to officially begin the hike from marker #1.

This short section along the river was pretty crappy. I wish they routed the trail on the other side.

I wish people would stop throwing their trash down hillsides. Also, this section was filled with leeches.... ewww..

Walk back to Kyoto? Maybe next time. We did walk back to the JR bus stop rather than waiting for the community bus from here.

The Keihoku Loop might be possible to do in one day if you can get there really early in the morning and the weather is good. As we rely on public transportation we couldn't arrive before 9am. Looking forward to finishing off the loop by taking the JR bus back to the Michinoeki then walking up the road to where the loop continues. I also want to start from here and go to Kurama Station.
