The hike to Lago di Sorapis in the Dolomites is about 5.7 to 5.8 km one way, taking roughly 2 hours from the Passo Tre Croci trailhead. Parking is free and available along the road or in a small lot near the trailhead.
The spectacular turquoise glacial lake, set beneath towering peaks, is extremely popular with hikers of all ages and fitness levels. Crowds are common, so early starts are recommended.
The trail starts with a wide and easy forest path, then gradually becomes rockier and narrower with some exposed sections featuring shallow streams. There are metal steps and cables for safety in steeper or more exposed areas.
Like us, many visitors complete a 2 km short loop around the lake, offering different perspectives of the lake and surrounding cliffs.
