From Kamikatsura there is no official route be careful walking along the river as there is no actual trail at times and you can get stuck on a spit and have to head back like I did. :P

There's a spur off to this viewpoint. Not sure why, but it's a good viewpoint. Double back from here. It's a dead end.

Then through Arashiyama. I hit here at 9:30ish and the tourist numbers were low enough that I could squeeze through before getting stuck in a walking traffic jam.

After getting some tea at the MiniStop infront of Arashiyama St, it was time to hit the trail again. This section sucks in th e super 38~40 degree heat of a Kyoto summer.

Off the mountain and into this river. Got the stuff out of my pockets and went in with my clothes on. It was that hot.

Kamikatsura St. is the end of the loop officially. Because this section was so short I decided to walk through the city and compete the loop all the way to the original starting point.

So I made a mistake and didn't really check the map. I ended up on this spit jutting out into the river with a canal on the other side. Well I cut through this bamboo forest as there seemed to be a trail there.

The trail ended here under the Meshin Highway. Pretty cool place to find, but no way out. Had to double back pretty far.

Across a canal and to FushimiMomoyama. Did it! Found a good sento to cool off and change at too.
