Out: 09:00 Seibu Ikebukuro line express from Ikebukuro to Hanno, changing to the Chichibu line to reach Nishi Agano at about 10:38.

Back: 15:43 bus from Kodono Bus Stop (小殿バス停) to Hanno station and then returning the same as the outward journey.

Buses from Kodono Bus Stop are infrequent, with only about one an hour. There are some coffee shops nearby, but they have rather irregular opening hours so check first!

Just under 1km walk from Kodono Bus Stop (so closer to the next stop down the line) but looks great: https://kominka-hiranuma.com/ Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Looking out from the 'oku-no-in' up the stone steps behind the temple. On a weekday there was room for lunch sitting beside the temple bell.

A relatively easy walk, where the highlights are the two temples/shrines Nenogongen and Takedera. Very few views along the way, although the 'oku-no-in' section does have a decent view towards Tokyo and is a good spot for lunch (although I could imagine it being busy at the weekend). A large part of the walk is through the artificial pines as well, although with a good number of pleasant and more natural sections as well.
