This walk is station to station, starting at Oume and ending at Miyanohira so is very convenient. Starting at Oume also means you can avoid the wait which is often required when changing trains at Oume for the route onward to Okutama.

Bears in this area are particularly vicious, as shown in the picture. Bears and wild boars might be seen in the early morning and evening, just when you want to go on a run, so take care.

感想

An ultra-low mountain walk, with the high point being only 400m, but with a nice viewpoint half way and a little wilder than I was expecting - really quite pleasant. This would be an ideal route for a beginning trail run given its limited ups and downs, no really rocky sections and a decent view along the way. Take care of possible early morning bear or boar sightings though.
